Biography

WILLIAM ADAIR BONNER is in the general practice of law in Media, Pennsylvania. He focuses on advising individuals, professionals, fiduciaries, non-profits, and families on matters involving:

After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree on History from Gettysburg College, Mr. Bonner served for two years in the United States Army. He earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) Degree from Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law in 1971. He thereafter clerked for a Common Pleas Judge in Delaware County, before fully establishing his practice with his father Hugh Bonner, Esquire, who maintained his offices in Media from 1929 until the year 2000.

 

Mr. Bonner is admitted to the United States and Pennsylvania Supreme Courts. He is also admitted to and has litigated cases before the Third and Fourth (federal) Circuit Courts of Appeal, as well as the Eastern, Middle and Western (federal) District Courts of Pennsylvania.   Appearing pro hoc vice, he has litigated before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia.

 

Mr. Bonner regularly lectures on issues relating to Federal Constitution Law. He has created and presented Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses for Neumann University and The Wynnewood Institute. He additionally teaches law to non-lawyers in a variety of settings, to include churches, non-profit fund raising events, schools, and conferences.

 

Mr. Bonner is a member of the American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Philadelphia and Delaware County Bar Associations, The Federalist Society, and the Christian Legal Society. He also serves on the Board of The Wynnewood Institute as Chair of the Curriculum Committee and on a Steering Committee of The Institute on Religion and Democracy in Washington, D.C. 

 

Mr. Bonner provides legal services and advice to religious non-profits and individuals as an affiliate attorney for the Alliance Defense Fund of Phoenix, Arizona. He has litigated a broad spectrum of First Amendment religious speech cases in various Federal Courts.

 

Mr. Bonner in prior years co-founded National Education Consortium, a non-profit corporation concerned with issues relating to the protection of student privacy. He also co-founded The Rutherford Institute of Pennsylvania, and previously served as Northeastern Regional Director of The Rutherford Institute International.

 

Mr. Bonner served as Chairman of the Delaware County Leadership Breakfast for over 20 years, on the Metropolitan Philadelphia Board of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, on the Board of the Booth (Salvation Army) Maternity Hospital, and was an active member of the Christian Businessmen’s Committee, The Gideons, and the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship.
